BREWERY KITCHEN MANAGER

Foundation Brewing is owned by a couple native Detroiters who relocated to Maine 25 years ago. Three years ago, they opened a small kitchen at the brewery to showcase our hometown “Square Pizza” to Maine. Since that time, we have developed a loyal following for our pizza by focusing on three things: great community, great beer, and the best Detroit-style pizza around.

Foundation is stepping into its next stage of development, and will be growing the pizza and hospitality component of the company over the coming years. To help us accomplish that, we are looking for the right person to grow with the company while leading the day to day operations of our kitchen.

You will be working directly with our ownership to not only create and execute great pizza and bar snacks, but also other beer-friendly, casual fare in a counter-service and takeaway model to complement our diverse range of beer offerings.

The Kitchen Manager will report to ownership. This is a full-time hourly position with anticipated compensation of $26-$31/hour based on experience, performance and including the kitchen tip pool. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with ownership and team to prepare and serve excellent food and execute the menu for the Foundation kitchen
  • Lead and assist other staff members in the kitchen
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen
  • Oversee weekly inventory and ordering
  • Help develop and refine standards and protocols for the kitchen
  • Have a positive attitude and be a contributing team member
  • Organize and facilitate daily on-site prep, including dough production
  • Coordinate with Tasting Room team on special projects
  • Interact directly and professionally with customers as part of our business model

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a leadership role in a commercial kitchen required
  • Ability to work well and stay cool and composed in a busy workplace
  • ServSafe certification, or equivalent
  • Physical stamina to meet job demands
  • Effective communication for both staff and customers

Hours & Compensation:

  • Full-time, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Kitchen hours can vary seasonally, but currently the latest the kitchen takes orders is 7:45pm
  • Pay is $26-$31/hour which includes the kitchen tip pool

General Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Minimum age requirement is 21 years
  • Candidate must be able to work in a standing position continuously
  • Candidate must be able to bend, stoop occasionally, and reach frequently
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally

BREWERY LINE COOK

Foundation is stepping into its next stage of development, and will be growing the pizza and hospitality component of the company over the coming years. To help us accomplish that, we are looking for the right person to grow with the company.

You will be working directly with our ownership to create and execute great pizza and beer friendly food and snacks, in our counter-service and takeaway model.

The Line Cook will report to ownership and the kitchen manager. Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen is ideal, but we would also be willing to train the right person. This is a full-time hourly position with anticipated hourly compensation of $23-$29/hour based on hourly rate and the kitchen tip pool. Benefits include Paid Time Off, health insurance, HSA with company match, retirement with match after one year, disability insurance, and company discounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with ownership and team to prepare and serve excellent food and execute the menu for the Foundation kitchen.
  • Punctuality and clear communication with ownership and manager are a must.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
  • Have a positive attitude and be a contributing team member. 
  • Follow instructions clearly, and be willing to ask questions and learn.
  • Interact directly and professionally with customers as part of our business model
  • Obtain or maintain ServSafe certification (company can help with this)

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred but not required
  • Ability to work well and stay cool and composed in a busy workplace
  • Physical stamina to meet job demands
  • Effective communication for both staff and customers
  • Willingness to learn and work hard

Hours & Compensation:

  • Pay is $20-24/hour plus kitchen tip pooling (Historical Average is $4-4.50/hr)
